Swift Transportation - Slow trucks are a road hazzard

jerry moyer turned down his fleet due to the price of fuel. now all trucks are governed at 62mph.
this makes good business sense but it is not only a pay cut to drivers but a hazard on the road and obstructs the natural flow of traffic on all highways and interstates.
It is no wonder that there are so many accidents involving swift trucks which doesn't save money or property. With a fleet as large as swift transportation and the poor training received by students at the swift driving academy more needs to be done about the safe operation of these large trucks.

I wish ppl who drive cars would *** about its all swifts fault do u know how big of an *** u sound like u guys think trucks can just stop like u they cant so go cry a river and ***
Heck I am an owner now and I drive slower than I ever did as a company driver. I average 58 now.
And my fuel mileage average is 6.3 Yeah that sucks but I get that doing heavy haul. 105000 pounds screws up you mileage big time. Most of the trucks in this fleet get 5.3 so im doing great comparatively speaking. Had a wierd week where I ran a 48 foot 2 axel refer 1400 miles.
did it at 58.
got 8.2 loaded to delivery , and pulled it back empty and got 9.7 mpg on that trip. woah Never thought my truck could manage that
I cant believe how many crybabys there are on this site. A simple comment about Operations turned and to a wine and wheeeze party.Gee people, get a life
Skiiyal8tr :cry
I can believe 60MPH feels SLOW till you are empty trying stop from killing someone.Like i did :sigh
Hey *** the faster you go the harder it is to stop that rig!! *** those could be your kids or grandkids in those other cars.
Manage your time and you'll get there on time.
Meaning leave the lot lizards alone and do your job or park the rig and get out of trucking!! :(
how about 59 at walmart dc cant even get over in traffic cause you dont have the speed on 70 mile highway
How abot this novel idea......slow down and safely get over....***....pffft
OK yall. It seems to me that alot of yall missed the point I was trying to make.
Ive driven trucks that would do 100+. doesnt mean I did it. slow and steady is the best and safeist way to go. ALWAYS .
Im just glad no one ever ran into the back of me. I dont get tired of watching out for someone who isnt paying attention behind me, it just takes some of the fun out of a very enjoyable job. for all the weiners who complained about my blog " I dont really care what you think" so go wine to someone who does!!!
Again the point was a road hazzard. I hope you get behind me when Im trying to pass someone, It could take 30-45min.
and what does less money for driver mean,at swift most of the loads you have plenty of time to get them there.3 more miles an hour only gets you 33 more miles in an 11hr period.AND T-RIDER IS RIGHT hurry up and get there nobody gives a *** out here anymore
Force is Equal To Mass Times Velocity. Is you knew anything about physics you would know this to be true. The fact of the matter is that far far far more accidents are caused you *** fools who think you can do 85 mph tailgating 6ft behind the car in front of you.
Stop
Whining
I'm
Freakin
Trying :cry
I would feel alot safer going slower in a big rig than going as fast as the truck will run
I think like was said before you get out of the trucking industry whatever you put into it.
Just how freakin' fast do you need to go *** !!???
The speed limit!!!
with all due respect, there are alot of *** drivers in cars that cause alot of problems for truckers, so take a look from the truckers perspective at dumbace ppl that shouldnt be allowed to ride a bicycle let alone a freakin motor vehicle
i would rather have trucking going slower then have them running 80 mph with lousey drivers and 80.000 pnd or more of fatal weight, there are some real cracker heads driving trucks out there,i live in south texas and hate being out there with these fools, dont matter if there swift,or locol trucks, theres no pride,no caring no respect out of' ill bet 80% of trucking nowdays, its hurry hurry' to *** with the others on the roads,
